Direction, preferences and feedback
Written direction plus topic and platform controls guide discovery. More, Less, Hide, opens and bookmarks update a profile that lives on your disk.
First reading and bookmarks
Read and bookmark real content right after install. Reading history, progress and read-later links are stored locally and can be exported or erased.
Offline reading
Download articles and their images and read them without a network connection. Clearing a download forgets its title and link too.
Multi-device sync
Pair a second computer with a code you read off the other screen. Reading progress, bookmarks and conversations sync over an encrypted link; conflicts are shown, never guessed.
Ask Ryn
Ask about the article you are reading, keep the history, switch models from one entry point. Cancel, retry and timeouts are honest about what the node confirmed.
Local AI and friend permissions
Enable a bundled local model with one click and decide, friend by friend, who may use it. A cloud provider is used only with explicit permission and your own credentials.
Friend pairing and sharing
Invite with a link or QR code after reviewing the endpoint, share an article, chat with attachments, and revoke at any time. Works across NATs through a sealed relay mailbox.
Follow friends' updates
A separate feed of what friends choose to share, with unread markers, subscription control and cleanup.
Search and retrieve
One search recovers your content, friends' shares and chat history, and tells you when an item could not be indexed.
Content viewer
Articles, images, feed-provided audio and YouTube items open with recommendation evidence. Accessibility, PDF support and media privacy are active work.
Daily Digest
A briefing summarizes current discoveries. Its legacy and For You contracts are being consolidated.
Signed publishing
Publish files with signed manifests and provenance evidence; peers verify hashes before anything propagates.
Private AI as a service
Encrypted node-to-node tasks with a settlement ledger of non-transferable credits. Streamed answers and a general service protocol come next.
Friends' shares inside For You
Rank friend-shared content in the main feed with an inspectable record of who published it and which node served it.
Open service mesh
Budgeted agent-to-agent services and untrusted-peer operation require additional protocol, safety and abuse hardening first.

RynMesh is alpha software. It is not a network of strangers, its credits are not money, and the macOS packages are not Apple-notarized.
No model required for recommendations
Generated briefings and answers do require a local or explicitly configured model.
No peer required for personal use
Friends and device sync are optional; the reader works alone.
No silent cloud profile
Feedback, history and conversations stay in the node's local state.
No strangers
Only people you invite can reach your node. Open discovery waits for the safety work in milestone 4.
